Showering and your period?
Ok so my family only has a shower and no bath tub and my period lasts for 6 days so I have to take a shower at least 2 or 3 times and I hate it!!! When I dry myself “down there” I always end up with bliss on the towel annoys just disgusting!! What can I do? Btw I can’t use tampons and I’m new to periods (only had 1)!
Yes, it can be quite messy. Before you get out of the shower grab a paper tissue and clean yourself up before using the towel. Often I will just try and hold it there until I can get my pad and undies on. You could use a small towel too. A towel that you could soak and dry before your next shower. Good luck my dear.
showers during your period are nesseccary and you really should betaking one each morning. I suggest going to the toilet and taking off your undies and then using a peice of toilet paper while you walk over to teh shower to turn the water on and get in. Then have a pad in a pair of a undies ready for you so that when you step out of the shower, you can walk right over to the toilet to put them on. Even thouh you are wet, slip them on and then dry everything else off. You will be good then. :) Using a towel won’t help at all, and you will be embarrased becaus eyou will have to bleed all over the towel that you share with other people.
It’s only blood, it’s no more disgusting than any other vaginal fluid or blood.
Just rinse before you get out of the shower and dry as you would normally, if you get blood on the towel then wash it – it really is THAT simple, millions of women do this every single day, it’s not disgusting and it’s really not a big deal.
You’re right that you can’t use tampons this early on, you can however use softcups and menstrual cups – these are internal like tampons but carry no risk of infections or TSS as with tampons so they can be worn from your very first period, they can also be worn with any flow and for 12 hours. Menstrual cups don’t leak like tampons either so no risk of blood on the towel.
